What exactly is involved in having permanent Make-up?
The first step is to schedule a consultation. At the consultation you will have a chance to ask questions, to see the facility where you will be treated to read and sign consent forms and to have photos taken. Next an appointment is scheduled. The length of time will depend on which procedure and/or how many to be done. Generally speaking, two hours are allowed for eyebrows or eyelash enhancement/eyeliner and three hours for full lips.
Is it a safe procedure?
It is perfectly safe if the sterilization and procedural controls comply with the health and sanitation guidelines set by OSHA.
Is it painful?
The topical anesthesias used today are excellent. Most clients feel the procedure to be gentle with little or no discomfort.
What is the recovery time?
It depends on the person. For the most part, normal activity resumes the next day. Some have swelling and that usually is gone after a couple of days.
Will it fade and how long before it needs to be redone?
The rule of thumb is one to seven years. I have seen clients who still have their permanent Make-up which was originally done 10 years ago.
Is it a tattoo?
It is a type of tattooing. We use iron oxide based pigments as opposed to ink based. The other difference is where it is placed on the body.
